Research Interests

  • Laboratory Astrophysics Simulation of astrophhysical observations in laboratory, and further benchmark theoretical models

  • Spectroscopy and diagnostic of plasmas X-ray and EUV Spectroscopy of coronal-like plasmas generated by electron beam ion traps, Tokamak and intense lasers, as well as stellar corona.

  • Stellar corona By analyzing X-ray and EUV spectra, we understand the enviroment of emitter regions, element abundance, and further conclude the heating mechanism and space structure of hot plasmas.

  • Structure of atoms/ions and dynamics of electron/photon - ion interaction Taking the relativistic effect into account by Breit-Pauli approximation or fully relativistic methods, we investigate the structure of ions, such as level energies and radiative decay rates. Further calculate and assess the (effective) collision strengths of electron/photon - ion interactions.
